Film Finance

Anglo Irish Bank has provided financing for film and television production in Ireland since 1990.

The Bank has raised Section 481 financing for Irish based producers and for international production companies who produce films and television dramas on location in Ireland.

To date in excess of $500m in Section 481 financing has been raised for Irish productions.

The films / dramas supported by Section 481 financing through the Bank include:-

  • “The Wind that Shakes the Barley” (Winner Palme D’Or Cannes Film Festival 2006)
  • “Garage” (Winner CICAE Prize Directors Fortnight Cannes Film Festival 2007)
  • “The Tudors” (2008 Emmy Award nominated series for Showtime Networks)
  • “The Escapist” (staring Brian Cox and Joseph Finnes)
  • “P.S. I Love You” (based on book by Celia Aherne)
  • “How About You” (based on book by Maeve Binchy)
  • “Shrooms” (staring Lindsey Haun and Jack Huston)
